I will lay my self down at your feet
curl my body around a tree’s roots
quietly slip inside through the cracks in the bark
all to become
the wind’s whispers gently caressing my body
the bursting birth of each unfolding leaf
the suckling of a cabbage butterfly upon my flowers
I am a part of the universe’s symphony
as I sigh, breathe, bend, and dance
my branches a sanctuary for the red cardinal
and for the six-legged ants who call me their home
and as I give above
so I receive below
the coolness of water quenching my thirst
the softness of earth giving way to my snaking roots
the wetness and warmth, the bliss of Union where all boundaries cease
I am the Threshold between Aether and Materia
I am the Door, the Portal, the In-Between
